Position Summary

The Dietary Aide supports daily kitchen and dining operations by assisting with meal service, food preparation, sanitation, and maintaining a clean, safe environment for residents and staff. This position works closely with the Cook and Dietary Supervisor to ensure excellent dining service and food safety standards.
What You'll Do
  • Assist with meal preparation, tray setup, and meal service
  • Serve residents in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner
  • Clear and sanitize dishes, trays, and kitchen equipment
  • Operate commercial dishwasher and monitor sanitation standards
  • Check and document dishwasher temperatures and sanitizer levels
  • Prepare snacks and nourishments for residents
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, storage areas, and dining spaces
  • Sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen floors and work surfaces
  • Store groceries safely and maintain organized food storage areas
  • Remove trash and recycling as needed
  • Support cooks and team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Participate in training and ongoing education
  • Collaborate positively with all departments within the community

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Food Handler's Card (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Previous food service or hospitality experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to read instructions, follow recipes, and communicate effectively
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Work Environment
  • Assisted Living & Memory Care community kitchen
