If you believe in recovery, want to grow in your career, and are driven to help others--you belong here.About the RoleAs a Peer Support Specialist, you will use your lived experience with substance use recovery to support and inspire individuals receiving outpatient treatment through Serenity Lane. You'll walk alongside clients as they set and work toward recovery goals, navigate systems of care, and build a foundation for lasting wellness. In this role, you'll offer vital emotional and practical support, model positive behaviors, and serve as a powerful example of hope and transformation.What You'll Do* Build trusting relationships through empathy, active listening, and mutual respect.* Mentor individuals as they pursue personal recovery goals and foster resilience.* Actively contribute to the development and implementation of person-centered Service Plans.* Encourage self-advocacy and provide peer-based emotional support.* Serve as an advocate for client rights and recovery needs.* Help individuals navigate treatment systems and connect with community resources, recovery groups, and support networks.* Provide support in parenting skills and community engagement, based on individual needs.* Lead or co-facilitate skill-building groups focused on goal setting, decision-making, health and wellness, and basic daily living skills.* Promote personal empowerment and build confidence in clients' ability to manage recovery and life responsibilities.* Maintain timely, professional communication with clients and team members.* Respond to voicemails, emails, and internal communications promptly.* Complete all documentation and administrative tasks in line with clinic and compliance standards.* Complete and maintain required Peer Support training as mandated by the State of Oregon and CARF standards.* Engage in ongoing development in trauma-informed care, motivational techniques, legal/ethical responsibilities, crisis management, and more.What We're Looking For* High School Diploma or equivalent, required* Active Peer Support Specialist certification (CRM through MHACBO or OHA), required* Valid Oregon Driver's License, required* Personal experience with recovery and a passion for supporting others on their journey.* Strong communication skills and the ability to connect across diverse backgrounds.* Excellent organization, documentation, and computer skills.* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively under supervision.* Commitment to maintaining boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards.* Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and compassionate care in all interactions* Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (Serenity Lane is a Cannabis THC-free workplace)What We Offer* Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance* 401(k) Retirement Plan* Education Assistance* Paid Time Off & Sick Pay* Wellness Programs*?
