The Recruiter plays a crucial role in sourcing and actively recruiting for people with disabilities. This role is responsible for ensuring inclusive and accessible hiring practices, interview practices, job descriptions and postings with support of the Disability Inclusion Manager. This job requires active outreach to develop and maintain positive community partnerships to grow Relay's disabled candidate pipeline. Presence at worksite and ability to travel to locations for job fairs/sourcing events required.

What you'll do:
  • Reach out to community organizations to develop and maintain positive relationships to grow Relay's pipeline of disabled candidates
  • Review candidate applications and phone screen applicants based on specific criteria
  • Follow scripts for phone screens and interviews to align with best practices
  • Respond to candidates through email and over the phone to answer questions and assist with online applications
  • Assist Recruiting & Onboarding Manager with strategy for sourcing and hiring
  • Actively participate on Indeed, LinkedIn and other popular job sites to represent Relay and job openings
  • Provide onsite support for weekly hiring events to assist candidates with Relay's interview process
  • Provide onsite support at job fairs and community events to represent Relay's mission
  • Communicate with hiring managers and other departments through email, phone, Teams and text about open roles and status changes from opening a role through to the end of the hiring process
  • Be detail oriented when using Relay's applicant tracking system
  • Oversee successful completion of initial background checks in system
  • Help train hiring managers on recruitment best practices with an accessibility and disability lens
  • Explain to candidates and new hires the disability documentation paperwork needed to meet state and federal requirements for the programs Relay participates in
How you know you're right for the role
  • 3 or more years of experience working in fast-paced, people-facing roles
  • 2 or more years of experience with a full-cycle recruitment experience
  • Demonstrated sourcing experience with candidates who have disabilities
  • Bachelor's degree or some college in Human Resources, Human Services, Marketing, or related area preferred.
  • You have a disability and/or you have experience with the disabled community
  • You love going out into the community and developing relationships with organizations who support disability inclusion and Relay's mission
  • You are detail-oriented
  • You are good at multi-tasking and knowing when to switch tasks for different priorities
  • You enjoy working with and talking to disabled people and diverse populations
  • You are comfortable using the phone, email, text and Teams to communicate
  • You like to keep up-to-date with recruiting and disability hiring best practices
  • You're able to get around town for events and come into the office at least 3 days a week
