Description:

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is a vital member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to provide occupational therapy services to residents of our skilled nursing facility.

Wage Range is $40-$45 per hour based on experience.

Responsibilities:

Patient Care:
  • Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, sensory integration activities, and adaptive equipment training.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
  • Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and injury prevention.

Evaluation:
  • Assist the occupational therapist in conducting initial evaluations and reassessments.
  • Collect and record patient data, such as range of motion, strength, and functional abilities.

Treatment Planning:
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
  • Modify treatment plans as needed to optimize patient outcomes.

Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, Medicare, and state licensing boards.

Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and effective care

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensure in the state of Oregon
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
