Description:
Create technical fit specifications for Private Label apparel. Provide a technical fit for garments by applying expertise in pattern making, grading and sizing. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree design or patternmaking/apparel manufacturing
- 3+ years of technical design, construction, patternmaking and/or design experience
- Knowledge, skills and ability to fit and interpret fit for garments
- Proficient computer skills and experience using specification package and sketching programs
- In-depth knowledge of textiles, construction and patternmaking, grading and sizing
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
- Experience leading fit sessions and the ability to communicate ideas and answer questions appropriately
Desired
- Other Bachelors degree in product development, merchandising or product project engineering
- 2+ years product development experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience- Complete accurate technical packages that adhere to Kroger's testing, construction and quality standards
- Develop comprehensive graded specifications for garment costing and construction
- Correct prototype and fit sample patterns, provide fit comments and approve construction specifications
- Develop signature construction standards
- Ensure appropriate product testing to guarantee products meet performance standards
- Research trends and conduct fit comparisons with business partners
- Help establish construction standards for vendors to follow; monitor adherence
- Adhere to development and fit approval process, concentrating on fit, styling and construction
- Lead fit sessions using live models/body forms to assess fit, proportion and overall styling of garments; inspect construction/workmanship
- Approve samples and supply final grading and red seal garment signed off; send results to vendors
- Attend and provide updates in weekly production meetings
- Provide detailed evaluations to agents and vendors for each fit sample, which may include pattern corrections, sketches, photos and fit comments
- Travel to work with fit engineers
