KLA-MO-YA Casino is hiring a Security Manager in Chiloquin, OR. This is a full-time position.
REPORTING TO: General Manager CLASSIFICATION: Management, Exempt, Regular, Full Time SECURITY CLEARANCE: CLASS III BENEFITS: Eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, flexible spending accounts, supplemental life insurance, and employee assistance program. INTRODUCTION The primary purpose of the Security Manager will be to ensure the safety of Guests, Team Members, and assets of KLA-MO-YA Casino and Hotel. The Security Manager will be responsible for determining methods to identify, measure, and control risks/threats to the physical and financial assets of the Casino. The Security Manager will also be responsible for establishing, implementing, and monitoring emergency procedures to ensure prompt and safe handling of such emergencies as fire, flood, or bomb threats. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Responsible for the protection and welfare of KLA-MO-YA Casino and Hotel Patrons, Team Members, and the assets, and responsible for deterring any agent or elements from jeopardizing persons or property in or about the companys facility. 2. Exercise the full range of supervisory duties for the Security Department. Personally discuss the progress of work and problem areas as they arise. Recommend employee training and ensure that training opportunities are provided. Resolve complaints or minor grievances and advise employees on matters related to less than adequate performance. Keep employees informed of management policies and goals for the Security department. 3. Ensure that the Security department is adequately staffed with competent personnel and properly trained and project professionalism and courtesy to all patrons and team members. 4. Perform supervisory functions, including but not limited to, staffing, scheduling, performing evaluations, initiating disciplinary actions, and employee development. 5. Work closely with all departments within the Casino and the Gaming Regulatory Commission to ensure the protection, integrity, and welfare of the Patrons, Team Members, and the assets of the Casino and on Casino property. 6. Responsible for the knowledge of all Casino department basic functions, personnel, and schedules for the purpose of providing twenty-four (24) hour protection and security for the Team Members and Casino assets. 7. Required to provide efficient Security Officer staffing to ensure escorts for all transfers of money, chips, tokes, and keys within the Casino. 8. Required to submit reports to General Manager, Chief Financial Officer and other entities upon request. 9. Responsible for Key Control within the Security Department, which includes use of appropriate forms and accessibility. 10. Review daily log submitted by all Security Officers and make recommendations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 11. Responsible for monitoring and budget control within the Security Department to include, but not limited to staffing, supplies, training, etc. 12. Make recommendations to supervisor and other Department Managers based upon daily logs submitted by Security Officers and observations noted by the Security Department. 13. Ensure that incident reports are submitted in a timely manner for all occurrences that happen on KLA-MO-YA Casino and Hotel property, and are distributed to the appropriate designation. 14. Responsible for addressing and reporting to appropriate Department Managers any observed safety concerns, violations, or inconsistencies, within individual departments, and monitoring for corrective action in the deficiencies observed. 15. Required to stay up to date of new Security procedures and regulations within a casino establishment, and inform the appropriate staff of any new changes. ADDITIONAL DUTIES 1. Adheres to Casino standards for guest service and confidentiality. 2. Refers guest problems or complaints to appropriate supervisors according to Casino policies. 3. Reports and documents any observed or known safety hazard, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately 4. Performs other job-related duties as directed. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge and understanding of Internal Controls for the Security Department within a Casino. Knowledge of Unarmed Security Officer tactics and procedures. Knowledge and ability to comprehend, interpret, and convey rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of management concepts, principles, and practices applicable to the full range of duties and activities concerned with management, to include personnel, finance, and records management systems. Ability to encourage and promote professional, courteous, and efficient customer service within the Security Department. Ability to operate computer with knowledge of various software programs. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Individual should be able to express self in a clear and concise manner for the purpose of correspondence, reports, instructions, etc. Ability to effectively convey information. Posses good public and interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to establish cooperative linkages among employees to assist in resolving interpersonal misunderstandings, conflicts, etc. Ability to function effectively under pressure of time and/or demands of several tasks at once by organizing and prioritizing workload. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of records and information pertinent to the nature of the work. SUPERVISORY CONTROLS Work is performed under the supervision of the General Manager who provides general instructions. Work is assigned in terms of functional objectives. The General Manger will provide guidance with unusual situations that do not have clear precedents or when clarification or interpretations of policies regulations are in question. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION High School Diploma or Equivalent. REQUIRED Non Tribal Members must be at least 21 years of age. REQUIRED Two (2) years work related security experience OR prior completed Unarmed Security Officer training certification with one (1) year work related experience. REQUIRED Minimum of two (2) years work related supervisory experience, REQUIRED, three (3) years. PREFERED One (1) year of work-related management experience. REQUIRED Posses current valid Oregon Drivers License and be insurable through KLA-MO-YA Casino and Hotel. REQUIRED Current CPR and First Aid certification, preferred, ability to obtain within first six (6) months of hire. REQUIRED Ability to obtain Unarmed Security Training within one year of hire. PREFERED Must submit to and clear an Alcohol/Drug Screen. REQUIRED Must be Licensable by the Klamath Tribes Gaming Regulatory Commission. REQUIRED Tribal Preference will apply.
