Fred Meyer Jewelers, a division of Kroger Co., is hiring!
Description:
Purchase and negotiate product and programs for the Jewelry eCommerce sales channel. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Minimum- BA/BS degree in business or related field plus two years retail store operations experience; or combination of relevant education and experience
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Ability to pass drug test
- Ability to work weekends on a regular basis
- Ability to travel independently on a regular basis
- Accuracy/attention to detail
- Ability to organize/prioritize variety of tasks/projects
- Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes
- Valid driver's license
Desired- Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Magic, and jewelry system software
- Retail store managerial experience
- Experience directing and participating on project teams
- Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
- Negotiate, select, and purchase merchandise from vendors
- Work with other Jewelry Buyers to expand online assortments across all jewelry and watch categories
- Communicate effectively, both internally and externally
- Assess eCommerce merchandise mix to continually improve assortments
- Assist to implement solutions to problems and act decisively to develop and execute on appropriate action plans
- Make timely, sound purchasing decisions by assessing large amounts of data
- Analyze the site presentation and merchandise the site accordingly
- Critically assess the price/value relationship based on knowledge of market and current business.
- Maintain adherence to Company vendor guidelines
- Seek out new resources to broaden merchandise mix and pursue creative methods of seeking out desired merchandise
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility through prudent and effective inventory management.
- Identify areas of performance which do not meet expectations and develop strategies to improve those areas
- Drive the development of the planning and forecasting process and the setting of inventory targets for each online category
- Analyze competitive information and provide input to the eCommerce strategy to maximize performance
- Work effectively with all operational and analytical groups to achieve objectives
- Help develop and monitor Vendor Fulfilled Inventory Drop Ship (VFIDS) scorecard and take action accordingly
- Evaluate and make vendor return decisions on salvaged merchandise
- Responsible for proper liquidity management by effectively managing Open-to-Buy
- Complete competition comparison
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
