We are seeking a full-time Crate, Skid, and Packaging Specialist to join our dynamic team, working 100% onsite at our Clackamas warehouse location. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with working hours from Monday - Friday, 7: 00 am - 3: 30 pm, with overtime opportunities.

Hourly pay range $21.00 - $24.00 (DOE)

About the position:

As the Crate, Skid, and Packaging Specialist, you'll perform physical tasks in conjunction with building crates and shipping containers for finished products and properly securing them for transportation. This specialized role is essential for meeting shipping deadlines, ensuring safe shipments, and providing great internal customer service.

What You'll Do:
  • Build and secure wooden crates, shipping containers, and other packaging as needed
  • Assist in the design and implementation of best practices and processes for shipping operations
  • Work with team leaders to schedule and anticipate the shipping needs for production
  • Prepare shipments according to shipping requirements. Assemble and check orders, pack and crate, and label.
  • Complete and maintain required paperwork and inventory transactions, if needed
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks as needed
  • Using Shipping Checklists or other documentation, ensure Customer orders are shipped complete, and components are securely placed in packaging material
  • Communicate with supervisors, leads, and other operations personnel about inventory, materials, and discrepancies.
  • Work effectively as a team member contributing to a positive workplace
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection, and safety shoes)
  • Clean designated areas
  • Able to operate forklifts and other lifting devices.
  • Follow all safety precautions and practice safe working habits. Report all unsafe conditions and injuries to the supervisor immediately.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
