Description:

The Corporate Counsel will provide legal advice and counsel to business units and management on topics that may include commercial contracting, marketing activities, compliance, litigation and dispute resolution, employment and corporate governance. Exact scope of duties will vary depending on needs of the business. The General Counsel's office is located in Lake Oswego, Oregon, but remote options will be considered.

Essential Functions:

  • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts including sales, distribution, employment and service agreements.
  • Work collaboratively on all aspects of the litigation process from case inception through closure including e-discovery and litigation holds, witness preparation and motion practice, budgets and external counsel, case strategy and settlements.
  • Engage with business stakeholders on new products, sales strategies, marketing, and regulatory issues.
  • Assist in the implementation of technology and processes within Legal Department, including maintaining external counsel management program and e-billing system.
  • Advise and counsel business clients and management on legal issues.
  • Support General Counsel on major projects and other ad hoc organizational assignments.
  • Support other attorneys on various matters as needed.

  • Experience in the med tech/medical device industry preferred but not mandatory


Required Education and Experience:

  • Education and Licensing: Juris Doctor from nationally recognized law school and current license to practice law.
  • Years of Experience: 3-5 years of experience working in a large law firm and/or corporate legal department


Preferred Education and Experience:



Preferred education and experience based on requirements that are job-related and consistent with business necessity.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Standard days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work may vary depending on time zone supported. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
