Reporting to Director, Digital Operations; Data Strategist leverages key data assets to enhance operational efficiency, improve patient care, and support strategic decision-making. The role involves collecting, processing, and analyzing large datasets to identify trends and insights, applying statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to build predictive models, and effectively communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders via data storytelling techniques. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to Identify business problems, formulate hypotheses, and design experiments to test and validate solutions.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with research, operational and clinical leadership teams to understand their data needs and workflows and provide actionable insights that drive informed decision-making across the organization.
  • Work within the data analytics team to review and refine reports and dashboards, ensuring outputs are accurate and reliable.
  • Leverage data storytelling techniques to communicate complex insights in a clear, compelling way that supports strategic and operational decisions.
  • Collect, process, and analyze large datasets to identify trends and insights that can improve patient care, operational efficiency, and decision-making.
  • Develop predictive models to forecast patient needs, improve clinical work, optimize resource allocation, and support operational decisions.
  • Support the development and implementation of data-driven solutions to enhance client outcomes, satisfaction, and operational performance.
  • Ensure data integrity and security in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Stay up to date with the latest data analysis techniques, tools, and decision support methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, health economics, health services research, informatics, or a related discipline is required. A bachelor's degree combined with at least five years of relevant work experience may also be considered.
  • Proven experience as a decision support specialist, data engineer, or data scientist, preferably in the healthcare industry working with, and managing, large datasets.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Python and R.
  • Experience with Power BI and other data visualization tools, with a strong ability to present data stories to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on decision support for operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of statistical methods with the flexibility to select and apply the appropriate techniques for the relevant questions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, including the ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data regulations and standards (e.g., PHIPA).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Machine Learning, Large Language Models and other AI techniques.
  • Experience working with, and managing, large datasets
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure tools including Azure AI Services
  • Familiarity with Client Record Management (CRM) Systems.
  • Understanding of homecare operations and challenges.
  • Proven experience in using data for operational decision support and improvement.
