Pay Range

Commensurate with Experience


Reporting to the Manager Financial Planning and Analysis, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day AR operations, including invoicing, collections, and dispute resolution, ensuring, timely and accurate hospital partner and other client billings. You will supervise, mentor, and support the billing coordinator, providing clear direction and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
You will be the lead for case / activity based costing and related statistical reporting; providing consultative and analytical support to hospital partnered programs. Develop costing model that tracks and costs service delivery to individual service recipients and perform cost reconciliations, analyses, and reporting for hospital partnered programs. Analyze historical and current patient costing, resource utilization, program performance, and activity data to support the management of bundled care and other programs.


Key areas of accountability:

  • Process and manage VHA’s hospital and other billing function
  • Continuously improve the billing process to ensure efficient and effective processes are in place.

  • Develop and implement case costing methodology to assist the expansion of business through quality costing of services for RFP submissions.

  • Analyze historical and current patient costing, resource utilization, program performance, and activity data to support the management of bundled care and other programs.

Key skills, experience and behaviors required for this position:

  • Cost accounting experience and education is mandatory.
  • Workday experience and knowledge an asset.
  • CPA designation or in progress an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to articulate and communicate to various internal and external sources.
  • Intermediate skills within a Windows environment for all Microsoft office products including Sharepoint, Excel and other software as needed.
  • Ability to analyse billing environment and resolve billing issues.
  • Adaptable and proficient in learning new processes and software.
  • Problem solving, ability to analyse and solve a variety of issues related to billing.
  • Supervise and lead a billing team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client and family centered care.
