Key Areas of Accountability
The Application Specialist is required to do the following tasks, but not limited to:
Assumes responsibility for Quality Assurance by working with application releases and developing and implementing testing plans to comprehensively test new enhancements/updates/service packs
Provides timely level 2 support (as well as level 1 support as required), resolving any escalations from our service desk and answering direct inquiries from end users.
Provide day-to-day support for enterprise applications, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
Help assist and provide coverage for other team members in supporting corporate applications such as Bell on Demand Contact Call Centre, Bell Total Connect, Microsoft applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
Work very closely with our vendors to ensure timely and thorough completion of issues discovered during testing. The successful candidate will also provide level 2 support (as well as level 1 support as required) resolving with any escalations from our IT service desk and by answering direct inquiries from end users.
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other IT related areas is preferred.
A Minimum of 3 years of experience with providing end user support with IT applications is required.
Experience with completing quality assurance (QA) testing is highly preferred.
Experience in a health care environment is preferred.
Be able to comply with PHIPA regulations to ensure that Patient Health Information (PHI) confidentiality is always maintained.
Attention to detail and a drive to lead testing, and ensure that new features, upgrades, and enhancements are tested thoroughly to minimize impacts to the front line is required.
The ability to easily communicate (both written and oral) at a technical/ business level and directly with the vendor to ensure issues are understood at all levels.
Supreme organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and issue escalations.
