POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Media Operations Specialist is responsible for booking, coordinating, monitoring, optimizing, and managing all aspects of both print and digital ad campaigns. This includes everything from being an inventory and product knowledge expert, campaign implementation and execution specialist, campaign and account manager and customer service professional. The main goal of the Media Operations team is to be efficient and agile while providing world-class client service to enhance The Globe and Mail’s ability to increase sales, renewals, upsells, cross sells, and creative optimization solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of ad serving technologies, and digital advertising trends. The ideal candidate will be customer service focused, deadline driven, detail oriented and exceptionally organized. They must possess the ability to multi-task and possess a solid understanding of online and print advertising, with a desire to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role is a 12 month contract position.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • In-depth knowledge of ad-serving software and Order Management System – Google & Adbook
  • Knowledge expert on all Globe and Mail Sales Products and Digital Inventory
  • Pull inventory avails for Digital campaigns
  • Book Digital Campaigns in Order Management System
  • Data entry of all print ads into the SAP system and if required classified ads into the Naviga System.
  • Follow up and collect digital and print creative
  • Liaison with traffic and programmatic campaign managers providing accurate booking details/instructions and creative material for trafficking (ensuring image files are to spec)
  • Q/A line items in OMS and GAM reviewing accurate product use and targeting ensuring a successful launch of all campaign elements completing live status check
  • Basic creative trafficking in GAM as volumes permit
  • Support Traffic with troubleshooting any ad creative issues that affect tracking, implementation, or reporting
  • Pull digital campaign reports at various intervals throughout the campaign lifecycle from various sources
  • Evaluate 3rd party reporting to manage and monitor discrepancies
  • Actively monitor all campaigns to ensure they perform as per the Advertiser goals and meet the contracted budget on time
  • Evaluate, manage and implement optimization driving campaign performance using various reporting platforms
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance and delivery of digital campaigns
  • Lead client interactions in terms of campaign maintenance and communicate on optimizations, performance, reporting, billing, creative etc.
  • Run ad hoc reporting for internal and external parties
  • Interaction and coordination with numerous internal/external personnel to ensure flawless advertising campaign executions
  • Provide excellent customer service for sales, client, agencies and account management including regular status meetings to review performance and make optimization recommendations
  • Work collaboratively with Account Managers to recommend campaign modifications, leveraging understanding of advertiser and product performance
  • Perform campaign optimization analysis to make sure advertisers are meeting their performance goals, delivering on lead volume and maximizing advertiser performance and publisher revenue. (Enhance the company’s ability to increase client upsell, cross-sell, and renewal)
  • Proactively flag issues for investigation (delivery discrepancies, technical issues, etc.) to clients, agencies, third-party platforms, and/or internal parties and support team with helping find resolutions to these issues
  • Process creative changes and order changes
  • Assist in project management in terms of managing client expectations of custom executions and adjust bookings based upon changes in project launch dates
  • Responsible for additional team job functions that could be but not limited to Site/ Product Reporting, Ad Product Testing, Analyzing, QA/Testing, Project based work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer service advertising environment
  • Solid experience using GAM, Adbook or any order management system
  • Solid experience using SAP or equivalent print order management system
  • Experience working with print ad formats and systems to support booking /coordination of print ads
  • Experience in optimizing campaigns evaluating different data sources and using various methods of targeting to drive campaign performance
  • Firm understanding of online Advertising ecosystem as it relates to Display, Video, Rich Media Engagement and e-mail
  • Exceptional problem solving and leadership skills that compliment a proactive and detail-oriented nature
  • Experience using some of the industry accepted performance/affiliate technologies
  • Must possess strong organizational and analytic skills, and a clear understanding of performance based advertising and metrics analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with HTML5 and standard ad formats
  • Familiarity with 3rd party ad tags and tag sheets
  • IAB Ad Operation Certification an asset
  • Trafficking experience an asset

SALARY: This position is classified under Group I of the Advertising Collective Agreement.
