Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Director, Data Science and Development

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

  • Accountable for team results, set priorities and allocates resources to align with business plan objectives
  • Handles and resolves escalated issues that are technically complex
  • Lead, co-ordinate and understand the data needs and data literacy of various internal and external stakeholders to steer the data access, availability, communication, training and support from data platforms to Moneris business team
  • Advocate for and present the data platforms roadmap to senior management and other internal stakeholders at Moneris for feedback and integration
  • Builds budgetary views of initatives and projects to highlight NPV and create compelling case for pursuing a variety of strategies and goals.
  • Plans for future team resource needs and the development of technical bench strength to enable the future capabilties for data at Moneris.
  • Measure progress against and deliver the goals of Moneris' corporate strategy including maximizing data reuse, accessibility, variety, and value
  • Identify technology and data implications from new products, changes, and opportunities for improvement
  • Build network with peers in analytics and delivery managers for critical LOBs to ensure mutual understanding of priorities, capacity, and to convey future plans for capabilities in data.
  • Ideate, conduct vendor assessments, and proof of concepts on the latest data technologies to allow for the most cost-effective management of analytics and self-service data at Moneris

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent work experience. Master's degree considered an asset
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in database design, development, administration, implementation and optimization
  • Experience building relationships with senior leaders and achieving buy-in on strategies.
  • Ability to blend technical abilities with communications to persuade business leaders and team members of the advantages of a given approach and explain concepts in simple terms.
  • Ability to motivate and drive technical experts towards common goals and facilitate the building of strategies informed by feedback from various stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to take a project or significant feature from concept to launch.
  • Ability to establish and sell the senior leaders within the technology organization on your technical vision.
