Job Position: Integrated Warehouse Specialist (IWS) & Quality Inspector

Reports To: Warehouse Team Lead

Location: YYZ - Mississauga

In this role with DHL Global Forwarding, you will be responsible for controlling the movement of freight in and out of the warehouse, ensuring proper distribution within the facility. Your role will involve operating forklifts, maintaining records of freight movements, and tracking shipments for the IWS Department. You will handle the pickup and delivery of IWS cargo while adhering to company policies and procedures and ensuring safe and efficient operation of equipment. In addition, the role of QI is responsible for ensuring that incoming mechanical parts and Printer Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) meet the required quality standards. This role involves performing detailed inspections, documenting findings, and working closely with Supplier Quality team to resolve quality issues.

Main tasks & Key Responsibilities:

  • Task Execution: Follow instructions from the Warehouse Team Lead to prioritize and complete daily tasks efficiently.
  • Cargo Inspection: Inspect and handle all cargo, performing test inspections for piece count, weight, dimensions, and physical condition.
  • Documentation: Issue documents verifying test inspections to the IWS Department
  • Non-Conforming Cargo: Identify and segregate non-conforming and dangerous goods cargo, advising the applicable department and Team Leader of such items.
  • Packaging: Package cargo safely and securely for transport within and outside the warehouse facility.
  • Labeling: Label cargo in accordance with the requirements of the relevant departments.
  • Staging: Transfer cargo to the staging area for dispatch according to generated manifests.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload trucks, trailers, ocean containers, and airline pallets, ensuring all trucks are chocked and in gear during the process.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain clean working areas and adhere to company safety codes and regulations.
  • Storage: Safely and efficiently store cargo within warehouse racks and designated bulk areas.
  • Inspection of Mechanical Parts – perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming mechanical parts. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers and gauges. Operate CMM machine to perform pre-programmed measurements. Verify that parts meet the provided incoming inspection plan. Identify and document any defects or non-conformities.
  • Inspection of PCBAs - Inspect PCBAs according to IPC-!-610 standards (training provided). Use magnification tools, X-ray machine and other inspection equipment as necessary. Identify and document any defects or non-conformities.
  • Documentation and Reporting – Maintain accurate records of inspections and findings. Generate inspection reports and communicate results.
  • Collaboration and Communication – Work closely with (Siemens) Quality engineers to address quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Collaborate with Siemens engineering and ell lead to resolve outstanding priorities. Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements (Education, experience and skills):

Skills

  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-620 standards an asset
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Education: minimum secondary diploma. Technical certification or associate degree in related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2 experience in quality inspection, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with inspecting metal parts and PCBAs is highly desirable.

Experience using MS excel, word and Outlook.

Experience using SAP – ERP system is an asset.

Pay Transparency

Base Hourly Range: $24.50 – 27.00 CAD

This range reflects the expected base pay for this position and may vary based on skills, experience, and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual bonus. Bonus amounts are not included in the salary range listed above.
