Description:

Summary

The CAE Engineer is responsible for creation and documentation of modeling plans to the engineering team. The CAE is responsible for initiation of new processes and tools utilizing FEA and computer engineering programs and software. The CAE will support the development projects and support the testing phase for Flex|N|Gate Group of Companies. The CAE will perform complex design analysis working in cross functional teams within the organization to deliver a product that meets the highest quality standards for our company and our customers.

Job Duties

  • Perform complex design analysis
  • Understand customer basic requirements and expectations for new product design and improved designs.
  • Supervise and provide FEA support for engineering group by creating FE Models using HyperMesh.
  • Conduct non-linear crash analysis and correlate to physical testing
  • Conduct linear stiffness and durability analysis for Optistruct and correlate to testing.
  • Conduct model analysis for LS-Dyna and Optistruct.
  • Advise and assist with structural improvements.
  • Responsible to assist and verify FEA results correlation to physical testing.
  • Advise and assist with physical testing procedures.
  • Provide continual improvement of new testing procedures.
  • Analyze and review CAE Data Management.
  • Responsible for CAE updates and to be informed with industry trends.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with company design, safety, quality, environmental compliance and procedural standards.


Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3 years + related work experience in automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Awareness, understanding, and implementation of Company’s Quality Policy
  • Strong Knowledge in HyperWorks, LS-Dyna and Optistruct.
  • Knowledge in handing CAD models.
  • Knowledge of Finate Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Knowledge of metal stamping and welding.
  • Knowledge of injection molded plastic components.
  • Knowledge of Draw Die Design.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills internally and externally.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of CMS.
