Summary

The Automation Intern will join the Advanced Manufacturing team to learn, observe, and support engineering processes related to automotive part production. The intern will shadow experienced engineers, assist with basic tasks, and develop an understanding of manufacturing systems, reporting, and quoting processes. Opportunities may include exposure to cross-border operations and training at different facilities.

Job Duties

  • Exposure to all relevant duties consistent with the department for which the Intern is working.
  • Shadow engineers and team members to learn about advanced manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with basic reporting tasks and data entry under supervision.
  • Support documentation and organization of engineering and production information.
  • Learn how quoting processes work by assisting with data gathering and research.
  • Observe and gain exposure to manufacturing systems and tools.
  • Participate in training sessions, including potential cross-border learning opportunities.
  • Assist with simple research or improvement projects as assigned.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an engineering program (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field).
  • Interest in automotive and manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Has the ability to work independently.

Requirements

  • Must be a major in area of studies such as mechanical, electrical, industrial, chemical, manufacturing or welding engineering.
  • Ability to use MS Office, MiniTab, AutoCAD & other analytical and planning tools.
  • Possesses strong analytic and statistic skills
  • Has the ability to work independently
