Your Role: Technical Consultant (Temporary Contract)

We have a temporary contract position available for a Technical consultant based in Alberta. If you enjoy beef, cow calf and feedlot health and adding value to a customer with strong technical support, then this opportunity is worth consideration. The Technical consultant is the external and internal technical advocate of our product brands as well as the company brand. This role promotes Elanco and its products with key feedlot customers, veterinarians, key consultants and feed mill business. Providing expert input on product inquiries, disease areas, and customer complaints, conducting demonstration trials for customers or registrations and leading the communication strategy for results and utilizing deep customer insights to anticipate market changes and provide input for future product development.

Your Responsibilities:

• Serve as a technical advisor to customers, demonstrating strong knowledge in feedlot health, economically important diseases, and data analysis.
• Increase technical and scientific proficiency on Elanco Beef products through fieldwork and technical assessments to generate data.
• Enhance sales representatives' technical knowledge of Elanco beef products, disease states, and industry practices, including preparing technical materials.
• Build and maintain strong business partnerships with technical decision-makers in key accounts, academia, and researchers.
• Collaborate actively with Sales and Marketing to develop materials needed to support strategic initiatives.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

• Veterinary practicing license within a Canadian province.
• A minimum of 5 years of field experience (practice or commercial).
• Strong customer focus, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal).

• Graduate studies (MSc or PhD).
• Proficiency in MS Office and email.
• Significant field time, including overnights

• Location: Alberta, Canada

• Travel to Customers supporting business 40% / Training/Teaching Sales Representatives 10%

Elanco Benefits and Perks:

​The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90, 000 to $105, 000. The actual base salary offered may vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees. The compensation package is subject to change, and the actual base salary could be higher or lower than the range described above.
