We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time position as a National Account Executive, Business Development. This position will preferably be in Toronto in a hybrid work from home and our head office. Candidates preferring to work from home full time located anywhere in Canada will be considered.


What will you do?


You will be responsible for sales of CFIB memberships to franchise groups and associations in Canada. Reporting to the Senior VP, Business Development, this position is responsible for the growth and retention of membership in our group sales channel. You will present CFIB’s value proposition to prospective and existing groups and will form and cultivate relationships with group’s key contacts and their members. This is more than a sales job. It is an opportunity to make a real impact on issues that matter to business owners.


Responsibilities:

  • Open opportunities, follow up on leads, prospect and research new business opportunities for group sales
  • Meet with prospects and current contacts and attend group and networking events
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with new and existing member group contacts to successfully retain the partnership
  • Create and deliver sales presentations and tools to promote the value proposition tailored to each group at CFIB offices and/or offsite to prospects, existing groups, and colleagues
  • Close the sale and secure payment from the Group as well as negotiate payment terms and work with Senior VP, Business Development on final Group Sales agreements
  • Work with Sales Support team to make sure all group sales members are coded properly and renewed at the right time
  • Provide ad-hoc reports on progress status of Group prospects and existing group’s metrics and ensuring Group Sales online page is up to date
  • Liaise with group administrators on an ongoing basis to keep them up to date on any events and projects and send them related material
  • Provide ongoing assistance to field sales colleagues regarding group sales processes and guidelines.

What makes a successful National Account Executive?

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience with proven success in closing sales of intangible products
  • Projects and always maintains a friendly and professional image
  • High standard for customer service and professionalism
  • Superior communication and presentation skills
  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the proven ability to develop strong relationships
  • Works well and collaboratively within a team and able to work independently to complete tasks
  • Well organized and responsible with an aptitude for problem-solving
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Occasional travel to other provinces may be required from time to time and attendance at evening and weekend events is sometimes required as well.
  • Bilingual English/French is an asset for this position
