Summary:

Kim-Tam Logistics (a division of Samuel, Son & Co.) is looking for a qualified and professional straight truck driver who has proven steel-hauling experience to join our team out of Burlington, Ontario (1250 Appleby Line). This is a local, day-shift position, reporting into the Operations Manager, Canada.

Responsibilities:

• Delivery of finished product to the customer/pick-up of raw materials at the mills.
• Responsible for securing a safe & legal load.
• Perform related computer functions (scanning, billing, finalizing, etc.)
• Complete daily trip sheet and/or electronic logs as applicable and ensure that all associated records are completed and submitted.
• Maintains logs, drivers trip reports, vehicle condition reports, related records, maintenance, and repairs to vehicles.
• Maintains eligibility for commercial driver’s license and complies with applicable Department of Transportation regulations as well as local traffic laws governing operation of vehicle.
• Responsible for the safe operation of vehicle on public roadways and customer & supplier locations.
• Always conduct themselves with a professional demeanor, to project an appropriate corporate image in all dealings with customers and the public.
• On occasion may be responsible for picking up customer payments after delivery has been made
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

General:

• Knowledge of Load securement requirements (NSC Standard 10)
• Knowledge of Hours-of-Service Regulations
• Subject to completion of all pre-employment screenings
• Knowledgeable and experienced in load securement (strapping, chaining, tarping)

Education & Qualifications:

• Valid AZ or DZ license
• 2-3+ years of proven commercial straight truck driving experience
• 6 months – 1+ year of Flatbed/Conestoga experience required.
• Steel flatbed hauling experience required.
• Detailed knowledge of MTO safety standards
