We are seeking an AM Application Engineering Specialist to join our team in Oakville, ON.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate customer/application requirements to recommend suitable AM processes, materials, and design for manufacturing modifications.
  • Developing AM strategies including support structures and build layouts.
  • Developing process parameter and strategies for advanced applications/new materials.
  • Design process workflow for additive manufacturing.
  • Utilizing CAD software for 3D modeling and preparation of engineering drawings.
  • Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team in supporting daily additive operations.
  • Operate and maintain AM equipment; troubleshoot print failures and process deviations.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, material innovations, and equipment developments in additive manufacturing.
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including customers, engineers, and leadership.
  • Adhere to the AS9100 standard and comply with internal quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, materials, or manufacturing Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in metal additive manufacturing application, process / operations.
  • Experienced in additive manufacturing process including laser powder-bed fusion (metal and plastic), electron powder-bed fusion and direct energy deposition.
  • Experienced in CAD modeling and drafting. Experienced in SolidWorks, Ansys and Magics Materialize, EOSPRINT and QUANTAM are considered strong assets.
  • Be proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings including GD& T.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, medical, automotive) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) is asset.
  • Team-playing attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present engineering data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a cross functional environment and complex problem-solving abilities. Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using basic measurement tools such as Vernier/micrometer and gauges.
  • Proficient in MS Office software package.
  • Lift 10 to 40 pounds on an Occasional basis.
  • Occasional availability during evenings / weekends.
