Short Description Restoration Estimator

Alberici Constructors Ltd. is seeking a Restoration Estimator to join our growing team based out of Burlington, Ontario. This role is responsible for preparing detailed estimates for restoration and rehabilitation projects across ICI (Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional) buildings, including work related to exterior building envelopes, masonry repairs, and concrete restoration.

The Restoration Estimator will review drawings, specifications, and site conditions, perform quantity take-offs, coordinate supplier and subcontractor pricing, and support the preparation of competitive bids. The successful candidate will have experience estimating restoration or rehabilitation projects and a strong understanding of building envelope systems and structural repair scopes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Restoration Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed estimates for building restoration and rehabilitation projects within the ICI sector. This includes scopes such as exterior envelope repairs, masonry restoration, concrete repair, and structural rehabilitation.

Typical projects may involve masonry repairs, facade rehabilitation, concrete formwork and structural concrete repair, and other exterior building envelope restoration work.

The estimator will review drawings, specifications, engineering reports, and site conditions to develop accurate cost estimates. This role works closely with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing, identify project risks, and support the preparation of competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for restoration and rehabilitation projects across ICI facilities.
• Review drawings, specifications, engineering reports, and tender documents to determine project scope.
• Perform quantity take-offs for restoration scopes including masonry repair, concrete restoration, building envelope work, and structural repair.
• Price labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work.
• Solicit and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and constructability issues during the estimating process.
• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities where appropriate.
• Support bid preparation and submission.
• Work closely with project managers and operations teams to ensure estimates align with project execution.
• Maintain organized estimating files and documentation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong understanding of restoration and rehabilitation construction methods.
• Knowledge of ICI construction, building envelope systems, masonry restoration, facade repair, and concrete rehabilitation.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and engineering reports.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
• Effective communication skills when working with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience within restoration, rehabilitation, or building envelope construction.
• Experience working on ICI restoration projects.
• Experience estimating scopes such as masonry repair, concrete restoration, exterior envelope rehabilitation, structural repair, or facade restoration.
• Strong understanding of restoration construction methods and materials.
• Experience performing quantity take-offs and preparing cost estimates for restoration projects.
• Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field is considered an asset.

Preferred Certifications

• Gold Seal Certification in Estimating or Project Management is considered an asset.
