Description:

The Program Coordinator for the Residential Colleges is a member of the OU Housing and Residence Life team who provides educational and programmatic direction for the Residential Colleges. The Program Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing small and large-scale student programs and services focused on student learning and community engagement.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists with program planning, development, and delivery.
  • Plans and coordinates activities, events, or special projects.
  • Researches, collects, and analyzes data or information and prepares reports or responses to inquires.
  • Collaborate on the assessment of program effectiveness in the Residential Colleges; identify challenges and recommend changes.
  • Prepare reports.
  • Serves as liaison with offices on and off campus.
  • Attends events or meetings and serves on committees.
  • May assist in the management of day-to-day operations or supervise program staff.
  • Work collaboratively to support all initiatives in the Residential Colleges.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining constructive, professional, and positive work relationships with faculty, staff, students, and all levels of university administrators, as well as external constituents.
  • Support and work collaboratively with Residential College Faculty in Residence and Faculty Fellows.
  • Collaborate with Residential Life partners and assist in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, training, and supervising student staff.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
  • Collaborate with the Residence Life Coordinator and student staff on the integration of residential curriculum priorities.
  • Conducts workshops, seminars, classes, and other special programs for students.

Educational requirements:

  • high school

Desired Skills:

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree, AND:

  • 12 months in student programming, student services, or closely related experience.

Skills:

  • Computer skills, including proficiency in navigating and maintaining databases
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Highly organized and ability to handle multiple projects and deadline
  • Ability to communicate well and build rapport with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to bend, lift, stoop and carry.
  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions.
  • Standard office environment.
  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.

Department Preferences:

  • Master's degree
  • 9- 12 months of residence hall supervisory experience or education programming oversight
  • Programming and residential curriculum experience
  • Experience with living learning communities
  • Event planning and coordination experience
  • Previous professional experience supervising graduate or undergraduate student staff
