OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center is Oklahoma’s only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-Designated Cancer Center, and one of only 73 NCI-Designated Cancer Centers in the United States. At the Stephenson Cancer Center, we have an exciting new job opportunity that could be right for you! The Researcher performs research in areas related to project needs or in a designated field of science.

Duties:

  • Plans, designs and conducts scientific experiments, including IRB Submission.
  • Performs fieldwork as needed to make observations and collect data.
  • Analyzes and interprets data.
  • Presents research results and prepares research for publication.
  • Assists in preparing funding proposals.
  • Assists with the preparation identification and cataloging of information and specimens.
  • Assists in developing policy papers discussion important limitations to current healthcare.
  • Assists with obtaining access to various research databases for further research.
  • Conducts literature searches as needed.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Educational requirements:

  • high school

Desired Skills:

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in related field, AND:

  • 24 months related research experience.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.

Certifications or Licenses: None

Skills:

  • Technical writing skills
  • Ability to communicate well and to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Knowledge of research methodologies and techniques
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of specialized terminology (e.g., scientific or technical)

Working Conditions:

  • Physical:
    • Ability to engage in repetitive motions.
  • Environmental:
    • Ability to work in carried settings and locations as determined by research goals.
    • May be required to travel.
