Description:
The coordinator of Student Life is responsible for fostering a commitment to student success by actively developing, implementing, and maintaining programs and services that enrich student learning, build and maintain a strong sense of community and support the educational, professional, social, and personal development of students at the University of Oklahoma. This position will assist the Associate Director of Student Life and Director of Student Life in providing vision and strategies to support students and communities on day-to-day functions of Student Life.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
ADVISING
Serving as the direct advisor for departmental student organizations in Student Life. This will include regular meetings (weekly/bi-weekly/monthly) with executive boards and individual meetings with members of executive and leadership boards and community members.
Serving as the primary advisor for the Interfraternity Council and secondary support advisor to all departmental student groups advised by Student Life.
Supporting students through attendance of special events.
Assist in response to crisis and student well-being concerns and connect students to appropriate campus resources.
PROGRAMMING
Develop and implement curriculum (curricular approach for higher education) around student learning centered educational initiatives and content to promote well-being, community, and leadership.
Planning and organizing various engagement, educational, and special events, seminars, conference, recruitment activities, award banquets and other student related activities.
Craft and facilitate community standards and risk prevention initiatives, such as policies and procedures, accountability processes, officer development, strategic plans, and data analysis and research.
Facilitate effective recruitment and intake processes to meet community needs and goals while ensuring compliance with university and organization guidelines.
ASSESSMENT
Assessing the needs of students and developing and implementing targeted programs and services.
Researching, collecting and analyzing data or information and preparing reports or responses to inquiries.
ADMINISTRATIVE
Maintaining records (student files, inventory, officer rosters, community rosters, other office files, etc.) and student groups guiding documents (bylaws, policies, etc.)
Serving as a liaison to cultivate productive and authentic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Managing day-to-day operations, including budget oversight and financial record keeping.
Maintaining websites (via CMS), social media and other promotional engagement platforms (OU Engage) and design student newsletters, brochures, handbooks and other publications.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Required Experience: None
Equivalency/ Substitution: Will accept 48 months of equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
Strong group and one-on-one advising and coaching with an emphasis on student development.
Conduct themselves at all times with the highest levels of personal and professional integrity.
Developing and implementing efficient budgets, cost saving solutions and long-term financial savings and investment strategies.
Effective oral and written communication.
Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
Ability to work independently.
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Ability to sit for long periods of time
Ability to bend, lift, stoop, and carry
Ability to engage in repetitive motions
Standard office environment
Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and high activity periods
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies
Master’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs or a related field
Experience working with underserved student populations.
A minimum of 0 – 12 months of experience.
Supervises graduate assistant(s) and/or student assistant(s)
