The Programmer Analyst is responsible for writing, developing, and updating programs and software. Troubleshoots system and program problems. Analyzes and programs software for a department or college by conducting evaluation, program design, testing, data maintenance, training, and provides technical support.

Duties:

  • Designs new systems or modifies existing systems to meet user needs.
  • Performs various duties related to reporting and data retrieval.
  • Establishes and updates documentation supporting various systems.
  • Performs testing to ensure systems meet stakeholder needs and identified criteria.
  • Conducts training and assists with developing training programs and documentation.
  • Provides technical support to end-users.
  • Assists with implementation of systems.
  • Assists with related administrative tasks such as inventory, billing, and record keeping.
  • Ensures safe work guidelines and best practices are followed.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of a degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.

Skills:

  • Excellent analytic skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Solid background in SQL Server, SSQS, ASP.NET, and HTML.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and integration testing.
  • Ability to design and execute test plans and test cases.
  • Experience documenting defects, performing root cause analysis, and tracking issues through resolution.
  • Experience with bug tracking and project management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI, and ability to validate data using SQL queries.
  • Experience supporting release validation and identifying risks in deployments.
  • Programming or scripting skills, such as Python or JavaScript, to support automation and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of Android and iOS platforms and mobile testing, familiarity with Maui platform.
