CPM is a department within the College of Continuing Education at the University of Oklahoma. We provide public sector agencies, staff, service providers, clients and community partners training, research and consultant support for professional and programmatic development. We deliver cost-effective, customer-oriented solutions that are tailored to meet unique needs and situations

The Manager oversees operations and directly supervises staff involved in diverse functions of child support policy research, analysis and development; training and curriculum development; strategic planning and project management; web content management.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise up to 11 full-time staff including hiring, coaching, training, resolving personnel issues, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Oversees administration of day-to-day operations for the program and ensures deliverables are met.
  • Aligns deliverables to the program's outcome.
  • Meets with stakeholders to discuss program status and goals.
  • Manages the program budget.
  • Interfaces with university departments, funding sources, outside organizations and state/government agencies.
  • Maintain effective professional and team relationships that meet CPM core values.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
  • Assesses program effectiveness and identifies areas of improvement.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid remote work schedule.

This position requires a background check that involves a national search and fingerprint search to be eligible for employment. Results of the completed background check will be provided to the funding sponsor for their records.

Educational requirements:

Desired Skills:

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree, AND:

  • 48 months of program development, program management or related experience.

Equivalency Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 96 months of related experience.

Skills:

  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations
  • Able to effectively evaluate projects& #x2F; programs and produce comprehensive reports
  • Able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively
  • Strong initiative to solve problems
  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience in good communication

Certifications:

  • Valid Driver's License

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Physical: Ability to engage in repetitive motions
  • Environmental: Standard Office Environment. Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods. May be required to travel. May require contact with other departments and university officials.

Departmental Preferences:

  • Master's degree
  • Experience working with government, public sector or non-profit agencies
  • Ability to work well in and foster a collaborative work environment
  • Experience with OU systems, processes and procedures
  • Experience managing Learning and Development using online learning and virtual delivery of in person training.
