Description:

The South Southwest Prevention Technology Transfer Center (SSW PTTC), housed within the Southwest Prevention Center, seeks a Product Development & Distance Learning Coordinator. The ideal candidate has experience in substance use prevention and in instructional design. This position supports the planning, development, and delivery of training and technical assistance (T/TA) educational products and events across the region.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating the production and quality assurance of prevention-related T/TA materials and products, from concept through delivery and post-production.
  • Develops, adapts and/or modifies, and submits T/TA materials for review and approval.
  • Conducts learning needs assessments and reviews evaluations for purposes of assessing and planning T/TA services and products.
  • Plan strategies with team members to deliver T/TA events, emphasizing instructional design and effective use of technology.
  • Establishes partnerships and acts as a liaison between the PTTC and consultants.
  • Manages the development and implementation of webinars including logistics, setup, technical facilitation, and support for regional, cross-regional, and national events.
  • Provides review, editing, and formatting to ensure that all products adhere to SSW PTTC publication standards
  • Serves as the primary contact for webinar and website technical issues.
  • Maintains and updates contact lists and website content.
  • Develops new training products, including marketing materials, course materials, and handouts
  • Develops reports and assists with compiling responses to quick-turnaround information requests.
  • Coordinates learner activities for client - specific and regional events and meetings, including communicating T/TA event details to participants.
  • Provides supervision, guidance, and direction to consultants or junior staff.
  • Troubleshoots complex problems and recommend solutions.
  • Advises on or leads product and training design projects as assigned.
  • Develops and disseminates monthly newsletter.
  • Develops and implements dissemination plans for all products.
  • Maintains data on dissemination of products.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
  • Travel rarely required.

Educational requirements:

  • high school

Desired Skills:

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or closely related field, AND:

  • 24 months experience developing education products or related experience.

Equivalency Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months experience.

Skills:

  • Skilled in educational program development and coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop educational products for various learners, use of multi-media strategies for educational products, and dissemination of information and materials.
  • Able to communicate directions and expectations effectively
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (including SharePoint, OneNote, PowerPoint), Zoom, YouTube, and Constant Contact.

  • Knowledge of adult learning theories, strategies, methodology and instructional design principles.

  • Strong prioritization, flexibility, and time management skills.

  • Ability to work with diverse groups in planning, developing, and evaluating products.

Departmental Preferences:

  • Previous experience in prevention, public health, education, training, or project management.

  • Certificate in prevention and/or instructional design.

  • Will supervise the work of consultants
