Description:
Responsible for ensuring institutional compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), Stop Campus Hazing Act, and related federal and state regulations. This role serves all campuses of the University of Oklahoma, Rogers State University, and Cameron University. Working collaboratively with multiple departments and external partners, the Clery Act Compliance Coordinator develops, manages, and oversees compliance programs, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting, training, and institutional adherence to Clery Act requirements.
Duties:
- Serves as the institution's designated Campus Safety Survey Administrator, ensuring accurate data collection and timely submission of required safety and crime statistic data to the U.S. Department of Education.
- Manages the Clery Act Compliance Program for all campuses, including compliance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act, by developing and implementing policies, monitoring adherence to federal regulations, and ensuring campus-wide collaboration.
- Develops, updates, and maintains Clery Act policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with federal statutes, institutional requirements, and best practices.
- Prepares, publishes, and distributes the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASR) and Campus Hazing Transparency Report, ensuring timely and accurate communication to the campus community.
- Ensures timely development and distribution of notices regarding the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report, ensuring availability to prospective students and employees in compliance with federal regulations.
- Collects and manage crime and disciplinary referral data from internal and external sources, ensuring accurate classification of incidents in compliance with Clery Act Standards.
- Maintains audit fi les and serves as the records custodian for all Clear Act-associated documents, ensuring compliance with documentation and retention requirements.
- Ensures compliance with daily crime and fi re log requirements, working closely with the campus police and public safety records division.
- Leads and coordinates Clery-related campus committees, including the Executive Committee, Working Committee, and Geography Committee, to ensure accurate reporting, policy alignment, and consistent communication.
- Collaborates with campus departments, such as Facilities, Risk Management, Campus Police, and Finance to maintain accurate campus building and property records.
- Identifies, maintains, and trains Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) on their roles and responsibilities under the Clery Act and ensure annual submission of crime statistics from all CSAs.
- Develops and delivers training programs for key institutional stakeholders on the Clery Act, Stop Campus Hazing Act, and campus safety policies.
- Manages the timely Warning Notification (TWN) process, ensuring appropriate assessment and issuance of notifications for Clery-reportable crimes.
- Collaborates with Campus Police and Marketing & Communications to ensure compliance with emergency notification requirements and conduct required annual system tests.
- Ensures compliance with related federal and state regulations, including Higher Education Act (HEA) Fire Safety regulations, the Drug-Free Schools and Safe Campuses Act, and the Sexual Assault Victim's Bill of Rights.

Required education: Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management or related field, AND:
- 3 years of related experience with an institution of Higher Education
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
- Ability to multitask, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines
- Ability to produce reports (Ability to identify, analyze, interpret, and conduct complete analyses of complex laws, statutes, policies, and data)
- Strong understanding of the federal guidelines for reporting and the federal statutes related to this area OR Knowledge of laws and regulations associated with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act, such as the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act and Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972
- Ability to use independent judgment, interpretation, maintain confidentiality and discretion applying job knowledge
- Stays current with governing laws to ensure university compliance
- Knowledge of compliance principles, terminology, and regulatory requirements that impact universities
- Possess a high level of awareness, diplomacy, and sensitivity to positively interact and build rapport with staff, faculty, students, community members, visitors, and professionals from other government agencies or departments
