Description:
The Gallogly College of Engineering's Williams Student Services Center (WSSC) is seeking an Academic Advisor to support our undergraduate programs. The WSSC academic advising staff is responsible for supporting academic success and personal development of students in the college, as well as responding to inquiries, monitoring student progress, maintaining student records, and assisting students with navigating university requirements and college policies/procedures. A successful candidate requires a balance of social skills to develop meaningful connections with students, attention to detail to provide accurate information, an understanding of academic policies and procedures, and a commitment to creating a welcoming environment.
All academic advisors at the University of Oklahoma receive comprehensive training that is guided by the highest professional standards in the field and reflect the core competencies set by NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising. Academic advisors have opportunities for professional development and career advancement that are self-directed and encompass the wide offerings of the profession.
Primary work hours are Mondays-Fridays 8am-5pm, with occasional evening/weekend work required with advanced notice.
