Your Job & Our TeamSupporting the mill to improve and maintain control equipment accuracy and effectiveness in our Mill includes Power, Pulp, Paper Machines, and Converting process areas. The core responsibilities are working as a subject matter expert with Control Systems and associated hardware, software, and instrumentation for the project, as well as sustainability and continuous improvement efforts. Additional information related to these responsibilities is below.
What You Will Do - Support operations (production, maintenance, and engineering) by applying process control systems and general process troubleshooting.
- Provide design, implementation, continuous improvement, and sustainability support for existing and new Process Control Systems implemented in Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Control Systems (PLC) for the mill.
- Project management and support for both large and small improvement efforts.
- Demonstrate Strong Technical knowledge by taking an active role in learning the many jobs and processes of equipment and exhibiting the appropriate knowledge and skill. May be required to train other team members in the skills, tasks, and duties in their areas of responsibility.
- Be available for after-hours calls for Process Control.

- Communicate and work with various operational, environmental, maintenance, and engineering levels in a team environment while remaining self-motivated and accomplishing individual goals.
- Develop process control modifications that improve safety, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
- Identify asset improvement opportunities that add value to Georgia-Pacific. Provide feedback/input on equipment conditions, potential failure risks, and system corrections and additions.
- Demonstrate a level of performance that meets maintenance/shutdown requirements and standard expectations.
- Perform all required administrative tasks (i.e. use of SAP, Ecosys, MOC, etc.)
- Contribute to creating long-term value by managing resources wisely, eliminating waste (i.e., stores materials, supplies, parts, tools, time, personnel), and taking the initiative to bring forward and resolve issues.

- Ability to organize, analyze, and process data and information clearly and concisely.

- Skills and experience with personal computers, including email, personal scheduling, word processing, spreadsheet, and database skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated and self-directed.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) - 4+ years experience in hands-on engineering and application experience in industrial process control platforms and networks.
What Will Put You Ahead - Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Engineering and application experience with process control systems hardware/software/networking. (Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley Systems is a plus, as are Controllogix, Guardlogix, Kenetix, and PowerFlex platforms).
- More than five (5) years' experience supporting process control systems in a Paper mill.
- Experience with network and server technology.
