Young Mens Christian Association of is hiring a Gymnastics Coordinator & Team Head Coach in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. This is a full-time position.
POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This position is responsible for general administration of the Riverfront Gymnastics Team as well as their Program Classes. This responsibility includes supervising gymnastics and child care staff, creating and/or supporting the implementation of appropriate lesson plan intervention, and maintaining site records, and additional programs responsibilities to ensure state licensure compliance and overall effective program management. Requires travel to and from branch locations for assigned duties, trainings, or meetings, or work programs in other areas as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Coaches Gymnastics Team and Pre-Team. 2. Helps train new staff. 3. Enforces training curriculum and athlete placement. 4. Plan team and practices, organize meet schedules and act as meet director for home competitions. 5. Active involvement with Gymnastics Parent Group (GPA) and attending at least 75% of their meetings. 6. Communicate with parents, gymnasts and league coaches effectively. 7. Evaluates current/future gymnasts for their respective level placement. 8. Responsible for program safety practices, equipment and safety with cleanliness of area of teaching station. This includes spotting appropriately. 9. Responsible teaching methods of skills and progressions of the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic program. 10. Responsible to report any accidents immediately and required to fill out incident report for any injuries. 11. Providing assistance to fellow coaches and co-workers by giving direction when necessary. 12. Is expected to learn/teach current compulsory and optional routine requirements to coaches and gymnasts. 13. Attends practices and meets on a regular basis. 14. Helps maintain gymnastics maintenance and equipment. 15. Organizes staff and volunteer training opportunities. 16. Attend all staff meetings, training, and league meetings as required. 17. Remain current in the field through certifications and trainings. 18. Assist Gymnastics & Wellness Director in determining team coach staffing and level assignments. 19. Maintain accurate attendance records. 20. Assist Gymnastics & Wellness Director in determining meet and invitational rosters. 21. Assist with association and branch events as needed. 22. Assist in The Annual Giving Campaign and other fundraising activities. 23. Performs other duties as assigned. Attend required abuse risk management training. 2. Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers. 3. Adhere to procedures related to managing and supervising high-risk activities. 4.
