A Brief Overview
The Maintenance Manager will provide supervision and leadership for all maintenance and reliability projects in the plant. You will provide vital support for the safety, daily throughput, quality, and continuous improvement of the plant. The Maintenance Manager will oversee all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the company's equipment and facilities. You will be the one to ensure that your colleagues have the best physical resources available to complete their duties. The ideal Maintenance Manager will have a solid understanding of machinery and electrical systems as well as other crafts. They will be well-versed in all maintenance processes and health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will also have aptitude in undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting etc.

What you will do

  • Provide hands-on support and guidance in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving equipment issues to ensure timely corrections and sustained operational performance.
  • Allocation and Management of Resources - Oversee the effective use of personnel, tools, and equipment, ensuring that all resources are strategically deployed to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Implement and preserve the integrity of sound maintenance practices on equipment through preventative maintenance programs and procedures.
  • Workforce Planning/Forecasting - Ensure proper staffing levels and skillsets are in place to meet both current and future maintenance demands, while anticipating operational challenges.
  • Lead the hiring and onboarding process, while continuously developing the team’s technical and problem-solving skills to ensure high performance and retention.
  • Ensure a well-maintained facility and infrastructure.
  • Ensure environmental and safety compliance in accordance with acceptable standards, ensuring required safety programs are in place, conduct formal/documented training, and monitor for compliance.
  • Track and manage maintenance costs, ensuring that spending is controlled and aligns with the department’s budgetary goals while supporting operational needs.
  • Support process improvement teams.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
  • Participate in designing and developing future production capacities.
  • Responsible for maintaining GMP and PPE requirements.
  • Participate and assist all facility audits and corrective actions resulting from audits.
  • Some duties may vary slightly by location.


Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Mechanical Engineering (Preferred) or
  • Bachelor's Degree in other Engineering disciplines (Electrical, Chemical, etc.) (Preferred)


Experience Qualifications

  • 4-6 years Experience as a Maintenance Manager in a high throughput facility in the Food, Pharmaceutical, Beauty, or similar industry. (Required)


Skills and Abilities

  • Proven ability to assign tasks effectively, ensuring the right team members are handling the right responsibilities to maximize efficiency and productivity. (High proficiency)
  • Skilled in identifying and addressing conflicts promptly and professionally, fostering a positive work environment and promoting collaborative solutions. (High proficiency)
  • Ability to engage and build rapport with executive leadership and customers, conveying complex information clearly and confidently to support business objectives. (High proficiency)
  • Experience with MRO management, PM and CM Planning. (High proficiency)
  • Proven experience managing the daily activities and priorities of a technical maintenance team. (High proficiency)
  • Demonstrated experience with CMMS programs. (Medium proficiency)
  • Understanding of PLCs, sensors, MMIs, and machine electronics preferred. (Medium proficiency)
  • Ability to track of and report on daily activity. (High proficiency)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. (High proficiency)
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight timelines and achieve results, while maintaining high quality. (High proficiency)
  • Outstanding organizational, teamwork, customer service and leadership skills. (High proficiency)

  • Ability to identify and mitigate root causes of equipment failure, optimize equipment performance, and reduce downtime to increase operational efficiency. (High proficiency)
  • Ability to contribute meaningfully to team efforts, navigate complex interdepartmental relationships, and work effectively with various stakeholders to drive projects forward. (High proficiency)
  • Technical knowledge of boiler systems, air compressors, water treatment processes, and related equipment. Familiarity with industry regulations, safety protocols, and preventive maintenance requirements for these systems. (High proficiency)


Licenses and Certifications

  • CMRP-Maintenance and Reliability Professional (Preferred)
