Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical support for hot rolling operations to resolve multi-discipline problems.
  • Maintain and improve standard procedures.
  • Train the operators.
  • Reduce variation of key process indicators.
  • Lead the Continuous Improvement Team(s).
  • Benchmark the existing and evaluate new technologies, processes, materials.
  • Build technical capabilities, necessary to execute Vallourec Star strategy by identifying and presenting Capital Expenditure Projects. Leading CapEx projects.
  • Coordinate Project activities with Vallourec R& D centers, external research organizations and Universities.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • educational requirement is BS or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering/Material Science.
  • 1-3 years of steel industry experience is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing within the organization, both vertically and horizontally.
  • Project management skills for process improvement and/or product development.
  • Strong decision making skills based on analytical approach to problem solving, including application of statistical techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and execute objectives in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills for potential carrier growth opportunities.
  • Requires excellent team building skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to read, analyze and understand technical subjects such as technical specifications, technical procedures, process descriptions, etc.
  • Ability to write well-structured, professional reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior-level management.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Has to be driven, self-managing and well organized.
  • Strong ability to use Windows Office Application Software (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, etc…)
