The Manager of Volunteer Services has responsibility and accountability for the direction, coordination, and management of Volunteer Services at UC Health. The manager is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of quality, safety, experience, and efficiency consistent with UC Health operational goals. The manager will achieve and maintain competent services, compliant with all regulatory bodies.Minimum Required: Baschelor's degree. Relevant field, i.d. Social Sciences, Human Services, Communications, Public Relations. LICENSE & CERTIFICATION: None. | Minimum Required: 1 - 2 years experience.
Job Function: Program Management - 30% - Oversees daily operational functions of volunteer departments including supervision of site-specific Volunteer Program Coordinators.
- Supports and directs Volunteer Program Coordinators in daily operation of Volunteer Office, includes fielding calls and inquiries, record keeping, and assuring appropriate training is provided.
- Provides oversight and back-up for schedule review and maintenance of volunteer schedules.
- Develops strategy and maintains processes for recruitment of volunteers, applications, and screening of candidates in a timely manner.
- Ensure timely and complete communication with volunteers, staff, leadership, and all other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and appropriate policies across UC Health for Volunteer Services.
Job Function: UC Health Corporate Oversight and Initiatives - 30% - Acts as the primary subject matter expert for volunteer services at UC Health.
- Provides coaching, mentoring, and training to site specific Volunteer Program Coordinators.
- Support system and site key initiatives through effective utilization of volunteer assignments as agreed with individual business unit needs.
- Support recruitment efforts by creating, developing, and implementing pathways for career exploration, particularly with volunteers in the high school and college, including Career Journey's.
Participation as needed on organizational committees, i.e., Employee Engagement, DEI, AHA Heart Mini, United Way Campaign, etc. as needed. - Job Function: New Volunteer Onboarding - 10%
- Oversights Volunteer Program Coordinators in recruitment of potential volunteers.
- Assists with an provides back-up in scheduling and conducting interviews while assuring complete screening of candidates.
- Develops placement opportunities for new volunteers to support organizational needs.
- Obtain and maintain record of required documents for new volunteers, i.e. background checks, medical vaccine /testing requirements, confidentiality agreement, etc. Audits individual site records.
- Conducts and supports site orientation in compliance with joint commission standards and UC Health policies.
Job Function: Assess Volunteer Assignments Needs - 10% - Develops effective communication with organizational leadership to assess needs where volunteers could be of service.
- Develop and maintain appropriate assignment descriptions in keeping with labor laws and all other industry standards.
- Ensure appropriate competencies are maintained, measured, and reviewed for relevance on a regular basis.
- Utilize volunteers throughout the organization where need and fit are properly aligned.
Job Function: Reports and Metrics - 10% - Track all volunteer service performed.
- Compile monthly dashboard data as related to UC Health volunteer initiatives.
- Prepare monthly and annual reports.
Job Function: Volunteer Recognition - 5% - Plan and conduct periodic events and activities to recognize volunteer service and accomplishments.
