Description:

The Manager of Registry Operations is responsible for the administration, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of the Systems Clinical Registry Department/Registry Operations. The Manager works collaboratively with system-wide and campus-specific departments/service lines to ensure compliance with registry requirements, submission deadlines, and data reporting. Working collaboratively with the Department Director and Interdisciplinary team, the Manager will assist in the development and implementation of processes for successful documentation improvement and EHR optimization to streamline workflows. The Manager will provide oversight for registry data accuracy and deliver data that is timely, actionable, and relevant to the clinical leaders while contributing to enterprise goals.Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field | Preferred: Master's Degree | Other: Informatics certification within 2 years | Current license to practice Nursing in the state of Ohio | Minimum Required: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience | Preferred: 6 - 10 Years equivalent experienceLeadership - 25%

Manages registry staff to include, but not limited to: interviewing, hiring, training, developing of goals and expectations, conducting performance reviews, salary administration, corrective actions, and terminations. Develops standards for data entry and quality for each employee. Provides ongoing feedback for employees. Empower staff to participate in decision making through shared governance. Maintain, support and encourage others with professional development; Assists with developing and revising of departmental standards, policies and procedures Provides leadership and coordination to multidisciplinary teams focusing on designated registry population.

Performance/Quality Improvement - 20%

Serves as a liaison between clinical improvement teams, IT, Epic team and analytical staff, and partners with analytical staff to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. Collaborates with medical staff and service lines and associated care process models on hospital-wide/system-wide committees. Conducts leading practice research regarding models care models and provides facilitation for projects, process redesign, and monitoring of results for each practice as needed. Oversees the registry data role in the cross disciplinary committees. Works collaboratively with Patient Safety, Risk Prevention, Regulatory Compliance staff to facilitate improvement teams to achieve overall organizational goals Communicates information/outcomes regarding system issues and/or patient populations to appropriate individuals or groups and provides direction to facilitate/coordinate the progress of patient groups along the continuum of care to achieve expected outcomes based on established guidelines or protocols Reviews clinical service line and registry fallouts and facilitates a multidisciplinary team to respond with process or quality improvement initiatives as appropriate. Helps clinical teams to plan, design, and gather outcomes information and data in accordance with payer, regulatory, and accreditation standards. Manager will be responsible for monitoring, evaluating and implementing changes in registry definitions, collaborating with IT for evaluation and updating of registry software, monitoring and evaluating data analytics programs, and reporting requirements as dictated by CMS, TJC, STS, ACC and other reporting entities. Research best practice for clinical decision support, value-based patient care, and quality improvement for identified service lines; plan, develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate methods of success. Perform needs assessment and gap analysis as needed to identify process improvement opportunities.

Clinical Resource and Competency - 25%

Provide oversight for the identification of patients for inclusion in Data Registries/databases though the application of strict inclusion/exclusion criteria and protocols to assist. Oversee the process of reliable collection and validation of the data for the program using the applicable criteria and definitions established by the registry. Assists with comprehensive chart review when clinical judgment is required, to assess potential outcome improvement strategies with the interdisciplinary team. Identifies problems that impeded attainment of outcomes and analyzes and evaluates clinical data as it relates to outcomes and resources utilization projects. Functions as a liaison between divisions, departments, UCP and COM. Consult and collaborate with Medicine to provide/collect data to enhance professional inquiry. Educates physicians, staff, and leaders in the use of registry data and the evaluation of evidence-based medicine. Builds collaborative partnerships to promote and support research and outcomes studies of patient care. The Manager will participate and assist with the training and quality monitoring within the department to ensure competency and accuracy of data collection. Conducts education and training to Interdisciplinary team on Registry Informatics as needed related to clinical areas of expertise.

Informatics and Documentation Optimization - 20%:

Identifies and develops standards of care/clinical guidelines/protocols in collaboration with multidisciplinary groups and implements a process of data gathering techniques within the EMR to improve and enhance workflow and productivity for healthcare team members increasing effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. Develop workflow-mapping process to encompass data and information collection of registry data entry to EHR. Develops an operation model, as well as specific functional strategies needed to prepare UC Health for current and future quality reporting requirements and the meaningful use of EMR Compiles data, and information into reports, to include an analysis of trends and patterns, for leadership, quality committees, healthcare team members, and key stakeholders. Facilitates internal and external requests for outcomes data, including developing special reports or designing new methods for data collection Develop policy and procedure protocol to incorporate workflow and data gathering process and techniques. Stays current with knowledge of industry trends and reviews literature to understand key clinical and healthcare informatics issues Serve as content expert/consultant when participating on assigned committees for improvement efforts related to informatics and data registry requirements to attain department and Enterprise goals. Serve as a liaison between clinical staff, Registry IT, and performance improvement areas to accomplish defined quality metrics. Proficient in the use of Epic, registry programs/databases, and knowledge of system development life cycle should modifications or changes to the systems be required.

Information Security - 5%:

Oversee registry data transfers and submissions to National databases. Maintains confidentiality of log-on password(s) and security of other authentication devices (e.g., key fobs, proximity devices, etc.). Ensures privacy and security of information entrusted to their care. Uses company business assets and information resources for management-approved purposes only. Adheres to all information privacy and security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines. Promptly reports information security incidents to the Chief Privacy Officer.
