Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced mortgage servicing professional to join our Default Services team here at Third Federal. The Default Services department’s goal is to keep our borrowers in their home. In this role, the Special Servicing Specialist will be responsible for managing the workout options for delinquent loans while providing excellent customer service and protecting the financial interests of Third Federal. The role will involve working in a collaborative, team environment and supporting the Default Servicing Managers.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers seeking assistance with mortgages and equity products. Send out mortgage assistance applications (MAA) and review submitted MAA packets for completeness
• Send written and electronic communication to customers with status updates on the packet reviews
• Prepare loan modifications for Third Federal and FNMA loans
• Prepare repayment plans
• Prepare forbearance plans
• Quality control forbearance plans, repayment plans and modification packets
• Order inspections daily and monthly for property preservation
• Promote knowledge sharing and work on process improvement initiatives

Requirements

• 3+ years of mortgage lending experience
• Experience in mortgage loss mitigation a plus
• Ability to navigate situations, make decisions and understand Customer and Associate impact
• Ability to prioritize work and maintain productivity under deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal/customer service skills; including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external customers
• Attention to detail with effective research and analytical skills
• Demonstrate the ability to work within a team environment

Our anticipated pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00. At Third Federal, we’re committed to transparency throughout the hiring process. The pay range listed is based on relevant market data, role responsibilities, and skills required for the position. Individual pay will be thoughtfully determined by a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors.
