Job Summary The Estimator Il is responsible for coordinating and leading complex estimating efforts for Exterior Facades, specializing in custom unitized curtain wall projects. This role supports Sales, Project Management, Engineering, and Field Operations by delivering highly accurate and strategic labor and material estimates. The Estimator II leverages industry knowledge, historical data, and cross-functional collaboration to drive competitive bids and project success. This position also mentors Estimator I and contributes to process improvement initiatives. Estimator Il reports directly to the Director of Estimating. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Scope Analysis Lead the review of architectural and engineering documentation for high-complexity projects. Identify risks, opportunities, and innovative solutions for custom or unfamiliar project elements. Guide internal teams in scope alignment and support consistency from bid to contract. Serve as a technical resource for scope interpretation and clarification. Assemble the Sales Framing Estimate and review with Sr. Estimator Labor Estimation Develop and validate labor estimates for all project phases using advanced modeling and historical data. Validate assumptions and collaborate with department leads to refine labor projections. Review and approve labor estimates prepared by Estimator I and present to Sr. Estimator. Material Estimation Oversee material takeoffs and specifications for extrusions, dies, finishes, and other components and review Estimator I work for completeness and accuracy. Lead vendor negotiations and ensure alignment with project goals and budget constraints. Evaluate vendor performance and maintain strategic sourcing relationships. Problem Solving Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving sessions for complex estimating challenges. Support and coordinate value engineering initiatives and cost-saving strategies during bid development. Represent estimating in client meetings and strategic planning sessions as directed by the Senior Estimator or Estimating Manager. Project Handoff Support and co-lead turnover meetings with comprehensive documentation and strategic insights to ensure seamless transition of awarded projects to internal teams. Participate in postmortem reviews and integrate lessons learned into future estimates. Work Management Identify and implement improvements to estimating tools, templates, and workflows. Mentor and train Estimator I team members, providing guidance and feedback. Support the Estimating Manager in departmental planning and reporting. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in applied science, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating, preferably in curtain wall or façade systems. Proven ability to lead complex estimating efforts and mentor junior staff. Strong understanding of architectural, structural, and fabrication principles. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software.
