Perma-Pipe in Hebron, OH is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations within the fabrication and/or coating departments. This role supervises approximately 20-30 production employees , ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and applicable quality requirements.

The Production Supervisor provides direct leadership to production teams, coordinates workflow, monitors production schedules, and ensures adherence to safety policies and operational procedures. This position plays a key role in maintaining productivity, quality, and a strong safety culture across the facility.

The role is situated in Hebron, OH and is not a remote or hybrid position.

Production Leadership & Operations

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of 20-30 production employees.
• Review work orders and production schedules to establish priorities and staffing needs.
• Assign tasks, monitor workflow, and adjust resources to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Monitor productivity, efficiency, and schedule attainment to ensure operational goals are met.
• Maintain accurate production records including labor, materials, and work order completion.

Safety Leadership & Compliance

• Promote a culture where Safety, Quality, and Production are equally prioritized.
• Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Conduct safety inspections, hazard assessments, and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and encourage proactive hazard reporting.
• Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses, implementing corrective actions.

Quality Assurance & Process Control

• Inspect materials and in-process work to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Direct adjustments to machine setups or processes to correct defects or inefficiencies.
• Support ISO compliance activities and participate in internal and external audits.

Team Leadership & Development

• Train and mentor employees on equipment, procedures, safety, and quality expectations.
• Monitor employee performance, provide coaching, and support development plans.
• Address employee concerns and workplace issues in coordination with management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Safety teams to resolve operational issues.
• Ensure equipment is properly set up, maintained, and operating efficiently.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and workplace organization programs.

Additional Responsibilities

• Support special projects and additional duties as assigned by the Production Manager.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or GED required (Associate's degree or technical training preferred).
• 3-7 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial production environments.
• 1-3 years of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Experience in pipe fabrication, coating, or industrial manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Knowledge of production processes, materials handling, and industrial equipment.
• Understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work orders, and reports.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP/production tracking systems preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing and pipe fabrication facility.
• Regular presence on the production floor supporting inspection activities and quality oversight.
• Exposure to welding operations, fabrication equipment, moving machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, and hearing protection while in production areas.
• Occasional overtime may be required to support audits, inspections, or production schedules.
