Perma-Pipe in Hebron, OH is looking for a Maintenance Technician III (Sr Maintenance Technician)

The Maintenance Technician III (Sr Maintenance Technician) is responsible for diagnosing complex equipment issues, supporting automation systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise along with the ability to mentor junior technicians and lead small-scale projects.

This position independently performs advanced troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance across multiple systems. This position requires strong technical expertise and the ability to mentor junior technicians.

The role is situated in Hebron, OH and is not a remote or hybrid position.

Advanced Troubleshooting & Repairs
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Support PLC troubleshooting and controls diagnostics in collaboration with engineering or senior technical resources.
  • Perform advanced repairs to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.

Preventive & Precision Maintenance
  • Conduct equipment alignment, calibration, and precision maintenance tasks.
  • Perform HVAC maintenance and minor facility repairs.
  • Identify and address root causes of recurring equipment issues.

Equipment Fabrication & Modification
  • Fabricate or repair components using welding, machining, or other fabrication techniques (as applicable).
  • Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement efforts.

Project Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead small maintenance projects, including installations and system upgrades.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Support initiatives that improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and production uptime.

Training & Mentorship
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to Maintenance Technician I and II team members.
  • Promote best practices in troubleshooting, safety, and maintenance procedures.

Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA standards, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and safe work practices across the maintenance team.

Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Trade school certification or technical training strongly preferred.
  • 4-6 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent combination of experience and certification.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems, automation equipment, and industrial controls.
  • Experience with equipment fabrication, welding, or machining preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team support abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Work Environment
  • Industrial manufacturing and fabrication setting.
  • Exposure to noise, welding operations, heavy equipment, and varying temperatures.
  • Frequent interaction with production floor activities.
  • Required use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.
  • Occasional overtime or extended hours based on production needs.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to move throughout shop, yard, and facility areas.
  • Occasional bending, climbing, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift or move equipment and tools up to 25 lbs.
