Perma-Pipe in Hebron, OH is looking for a Maintenance Technician I (Entry Level) The Maintenance Technician I (Entry Level) performs basic preventive maintenance and supports higher-level technicians with equipment repairs and troubleshooting. This position is designed for individuals beginning a career in industrial maintenance who are interested in developing multi-craft skills.
The role is situated in Hebron, OH and is not a remote or hybrid position. Essential Job Functions Preventive Maintenance & Equipment Support
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks including lubrication, filter changes, inspections, and equipment cleaning.
- Assist in maintaining production equipment to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Support senior technicians with basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Assist in repairs and maintenance of machinery, tools, and facility systems.
Documentation & Systems
- Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Maintain clear and organized maintenance records.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Report unsafe conditions, hazards, or equipment issues immediately.
- Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and PPE.
Learning & Development
- Participate in on-the-job training to develop technical maintenance skills.
- Continuously build knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0-2 years of maintenance, mechanical, or related experience.
- ocational or technical training preferred.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
- Strong willingness to learn and grow in a technical environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.
Work Environment
- Industrial manufacturing and fabrication setting.
- Exposure to noise, welding operations, heavy equipment, and varying temperatures.
- Frequent interaction with production floor activities.
- Required use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.
- Occasional overtime or extended hours based on production needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to move throughout shop, yard, and facility areas.
- Occasional bending, climbing, and reaching.
- Ability to lift or move equipment and tools up to 25 lbs.
