General Purpose

Performs a variety of general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and to maintain the nursing home in a sanitary manner, and free from offensive orders.

Essential Duties

• Make available a quantity of clean linen for proper care and comfort of all residents.
• Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.
• Label new resident's clothing items as needed
• Sorting, treat, wash, dry and fold clothing and linens
• Deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms
• Follows all sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.
• Maintain inventory of laundry supplies.
• Use all laundry equipment and supplies in a safe manner.
• Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator

Qualification

GED or High School Diploma

1 year of experience preferred

Physical Demands

• Lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
• Stand, walk, and bend for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Perform repetitive motions, including folding and sorting.
• Work in warm or humid environments produced by laundry machines.
• May be exposed to cleaning chemicals or detergents.
• Must have manual dexterity for operating laundry equipment safely.
