Description:
The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of U.S. manufacturing plant and distribution center inventories, including fixed assets. This role is ideal for a detail oriented, analytical professional who enjoys working with inventory data and continuous process improvement in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily review of finished goods inventory transactions
- Monthly/quarterly batch materials physical inventory
- Coordinate the annual physical inventory of plant fixed assets and provide corporate accounting with all necessary inventory reporting
- Report all fixed asset transactions to include transfers and dispositions; apply property tag identifications to newly acquired assets
- Maintain records retention inventory and dispose of records as appropriate
- Responsible for identifying the root cause of all inventory adjustments
- Maintain inventory balances plus journal activity for refractory and precious metal inventories
- Monthly closing responsibilities including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Standard costing of new items and subcontractor work orders
- Monthly calculation of cycle count accuracy
- Responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements as required.
- Assist in completing our annual audit with a focus on cycle counts and inventory related tests
- Other job duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, business or supply chain preferred; or equivalent experience
- One to three years’ experience in accounting, supply chain or a related field
- Strong foundation with Microsoft Office Products (primarily Excel); ability to learn/manipulate systems quickly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Preferred knowledge of JD Edwards or similar ERP experience
- Perform well under pressure, manage multiple assignments and able to prioritize tasks
- Travel on occasion, less than 10% annually
