Description:
Responsible for sales, property, and/or payroll tax compliance for the company for over 200 government jurisdictions. Assist in coordinating the daily tax reporting and accounting activities of management within the enterprise. Responsible for the coordination, planning, and managing of the sales, property, and/or payroll and other indirect taxes of the company. Achieve accurate, timely and efficient accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and company policies. Analyze and interpret complex issues and provide recommendations to ensure execution and compliance. Oversee the various tax audits conducted by taxing jurisdictions and represent the company on audit appeals and negotiate with the various state's department of taxation. - Bachelor's Degree in accounting/finance
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of files, conversations and documents
- Highly organized and proficient at multi-tasking
- Ability to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities, with data from different sources to draw conclusions, use effective approaches for course of action or develop appropriate solutions and take action

DESIRED
- 5+ years experience as tax manager or division financial analyst
- 5+ years regional or corporate accounting experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Coordinate, plan and manage sales, property, and/or payroll tax audits performed by various states to minimize tax assessments
- Represent the company at audit negotiations, tax hearings and appeals; consult with outside tax counsel and consultants
- Oversee the preparation of accounting entries to properly record financial activities
- Manage tax planning projects and be the subject matter expert for the company's procurement and eCommerce companies
- File reports with corporate and government agencies accurately and timely
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the divisions for indirect tax accounting and complex tax issues
- Develop and oversee best practices and procedures for consolidation of accounting functions and manage special projects for indirect taxes, merge company's modernization integration and tax compliance processes
- Train/develop a staff of efficient managers that are capable of being promoted; assist in conducting training sessions
- Travel to divisions as needed for training, audits, hearings and special projects
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
- Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
