Description:

Coordinate the preparation and review of indirect tax compliance for the company. Supervise a team that is responsible for the accurate and timely filing of enterprise indirect tax returns and payments. Assist in special projects related to other tax functions such as property taxes, sales and use taxes and income taxes. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.Minimum
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance,
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong accounting skills and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to recognize and set priorities
  • Ability to train and lead staff
  • Ability to communicate and maintain professionalism with contacts outside the department and company
Desired
  • 2+ years corporate or consulting payroll tax experience
  • 2+ years of Kroger accounting center, division or audit experience
  • 2+ years of experience with MasterTax software
  • 2+ years of experience with Oracle Payroll software
  • High level of expertise with automated information processing and accounting systems
  • Manage the company's indirect tax compliance process
  • Identify process improvements relating to indirect tax compliance and existing systems
  • Assist and review the reconciliation of the indirect tax accounts
  • Assist with state and local and internal/external audits
  • Communicate with various tax agencies regarding indirect tax notices
  • Assist senior manager with special projects related to other tax functions such as property, sales and use and income taxes
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
