Description:

Support Logistics Distribution Centers by addressing operational challenges related to industrial engineering and continuous improvement activities, including capacity studies, labor standards reviews, labor analysis, and Capital Appropriation (CA) development. Lead the oversight and advancement of industrial engineering technologies, tools, and processes across the network. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and solution development support to industrial engineers, business owners, and project leads to ensure consistent application of engineering techniques and methodologies companywide. Analyze and resolve complex production and distribution challenges using advanced industrial engineering practices such as make‑versus‑buy analysis, scenario modeling, and optimization to deliver cost savings and support management decision‑making. Lead, consult on, and present findings for complex, cross‑functional initiatives across the division. Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and accurately to improve Distribution Center performance in Safety, Quality, and Reliability (SQR), while demonstrating leadership aligned with the Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles.   • Bachelor's degree in engineering, BSME or BSEE
  • 8+ years of relevant working experience
  • Experience in roles such as associate industrial engineer, senior engineer, quality control engineer, manufacturing engineer, continuous improvement leader/manager, process change manager, warehouse engineering manager, or operations manager
  • Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communication
  • Advanced industrial engineering knowledge
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to translate technical analysis into actionable operational recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities


Desired
  • Master's degree in industrial engineering, operations, or business
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification
  • Experience working in multi-site DC networks
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide or multi-location continuous improvement initiatives
  • 5+ years' successful experience in leading engineering groups
  • 5+ years' managing capital plans of $150 million per year
  • Lead and oversee the identification of appropriate IE techniques and methodologies required to address multiple projects and produce tangible results
  • Develop and implement Continuous Improvement programs (LEAN, Six Sigma, DMIAC) into current work processes, working with various business partners to ensure sustainability of programs and processes
  • Provide leadership to develop, test, and implement various process improvements within the DC sites
  • Lead and manage industrial engineers in the development and implementation of labor standards for costing, staffing, and evaluating performance
  • Develop and implement a quality assurance and continuous improvement program to regularly audit and review/validate labor standards in use by the Labor Management System
  • Conduct feasibility studies of varied projects to determine the worth of an investment and provide justification
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
