This role will Provide strategic leadership for the Warren Engineering and Reliability team. The incumbent will lead a team of engineers and reliability team members. Incumbent manages team and equipment performance to deliver safety, productivity, cost, quality and environmental objectives and establishes continuous improvement plans to address chronic longer-term issues and advance the capability of the assets. Department leader for P& E coordination to ensure successful implementation of capital spending at the site. This role ensures that the Reliability direct reports partners with regional reliability team and energy group to meet standards, drive improvement and implement best practices.

Scope:

Incumbent reports to the Plant Manager. The operations manager is expected to foster a culture of HPWS by coaching and guiding the department managers and the shift teams to be self-sufficient and confident to take decisions closest to the work. This role is key to fostering a culture of flexible, independent, capable teams able to run the shifts with little or no supervision from the department managers or the operations leader.

In this role you will:

Safety:

  • Ensure safety of people, processes, and equipment are at the forefront of all work.
  • Lead and supports safety programs and processes to ensuring all team members are adequately trained and in compliance with statutory and corporate requirements to provide a safe workplace for all employees, site contractors and visitors.
  • Ensure contractors comply with ISN system in alignment with KC Safety Maturity Model.
  • Ensure adherence to KC Risk Management and GRC (Global Risk Consultants) standards. Address audit findings.
  • Provide technical expertise to minimize risk exposure using the safety tools (SMOC, STS, etc…) and other technical resources.

Quality:

  • Right first-time optimization with utilities systems to minimize performance issues.
  • Adhere to QMS standards and direct team to support as required.
  • Adhere to all permitting and environmental standards.

People:

  • Manage yourself and teams in accordance with our Ways of Working and values.
  • Lead the overall human resource strategy for all site engineers to engage and enable team members to contribute to their full potential through coaching, training, succession planning/career development and performance management.
  • Ensure that the Reliability Manager and Asset Leaders have an overall human resource strategy for all site technicians in place.
  • Lead contractor management efforts in facility including annual contractor performance reviews.

Delivery/Cost:

  • Partner with department leadership in asset performance – safety, productivity, quality and cost.
  • Achieve productivity glidepath by platform
  • Educate operating teams to drive water and energy usage to Best in Class as designated by KC energy teams.
  • Identify and implement cost savings opportunities to achieve ECS (External Cost Savings) and manage expense spending to budget limits.

Department Management:

  • Partner in budget management.
  • Manage, coordinate and implement 5-year plan.

P& E coordination:

  • CPC project inputs / updates and prioritization to BU/Enterprise Capital Managers
  • Review all department submitted projects for accuracy / alignment / consistency – approve the estimate summary and EPDS (when required)
  • Plant asset inventory and audit compliance / maintain Plant book value
  • Executes capital projects using the Project Workflow Map (reference Capital Execution elements).
  • Ensure projects meet objectives within applicable corporate policies.
  • Efficiently and effectively deploys internal and external resources to accomplish project objectives, partnering with the site Asset Leaders where applicable.
  • Ensures application of Corporate Policies and Code of Conduct by providing operating management direction, support and adherence to the applicable internal control procedures.
  • Reinforces and leads the execution of standards, standard work and OPEX processes.
  • Utilizes LEAN principles and thinking to deliver expected results.
  • Champions technical community initiatives, processes and mindset.
  • Optimize value for energy sales.

Greenfield Site Start Up:

  • The engineering manager is expected to foster a culture of HPWS by coaching and guiding the department managers and the shift teams to be self-sufficient and confident to make decisions closest to the work. This role is key to fostering a culture of flexible, independent, capable teams able to run the shifts with little or no supervision from the department managers or the engineering leader.
  • Develop strategic vision for plant’s growth, culture, ways of working. Align start up activities with long-term business goals.
  • Planning and Execution: Ability to develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets. Ensure that all aspects of the plant start-up are executed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth progress. Manage multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Team Building: Recruit, train, and develop a skilled workforce. Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including employees, contractors, suppliers, and community members.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering or related discipline
  • A minimum of 10 years industrial experience with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • Experience in multiple Plants, product systems and staff experience, along with leadership of a non-exempt workforce is highly desired
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members for career development and performance improvement.
  • Ability to effectively influence across all levels and functions in the organization.
  • Experience leading capital projects, adhering to Kimberly Clark’s capital execution practices, standards, and CFI’s
  • Incumbent would possess demonstrated ability to organize and lead a multi-functional team and foster a proactive team environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal scheduled hours will vary based on the need to support a 24/7 Operation
  • Flexibility to travel up to 15% for benchmarking and best practice sharing across KCNA
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment

Salary Range: 157, 720 – 194, 760 USD

Along with base pay, this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite, including our 401(k) and Profit Sharing plan. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors, such as location, role, skills, performance, and experience. Please note that the stated pay range applies to US locations only.
