DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Information Systems Technologies, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Technologies, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following: Information technology and application development throughout the entire development lifecycle. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: Java/J2EE and core APIs, web services, multi-threaded and concurrent programming, XML, design patterns, and Service Oriented Architecture; implementing Microservices using Spring Boot and Event-Driven architecture; Apache Kafka or IBM messaging queue; implementation of enterprise systems using DDD; Utilizing Full web technology stacks including Angular JS and React JS for UI; Planning, designing, testing, debugging, and deploying software solutions for managing infrastructure, project management, capacity planning, and operational efficiencies; Partnering with infrastructure engineers and architects to identify operational improvements; Java, REST, JSON, XML, and Web APIs Development; Developing microservices applications with Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security; Testing frameworks including Cucumber and Junit; Unit testing; Mock Testing Frameworks including EasyMock or Mockito; Using multiple application server platforms including Apache Tomcat, SQL, Database, Oracle, and Cassandra; Presenting solutions within required timeframes; Logging and alert monitoring tool using Splunk for production support and Dynatrace to determine resource consumption; CI/CD tools including Jenkins and Jules for application deployment using continuous delivery.
