GIBSON PROPERTY GROUP is hiring a Bookeeper in Blue Ash, OH. This is a full-time position.
Bookkeeper Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and highly organized Bookkeeper to support our growing residential and commercial property management portfolio. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely reporting, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and supporting the overall financial health of multiple properties. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, a solid understanding of property management accounting, and proficiency with AppFolio Property Manager. This individual must be able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Management Record, maintain, and reconcile daily financial transactions.Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.Process invoices, vendor payments, owner distributions, deposits, and tenant receipts.Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, trust accounts, and security deposit accounts.Maintain accurate tenant, vendor, owner, and property financial records.Monitor cash flow, account balances, and property financial performance.Review and manage tenant ledgers, collections, and delinquency reporting.Ensure all transactions are properly coded and recorded in accordance with accounting standards. Financial Reporting Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports.Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.Assist with annual audits and provide documentation requested by external auditors.Prepare annual 1099 filings and year-end accounting reports.Review audit findings and ensure any required adjustments are completed accurately and timely.Perform financial analyses and special projects as directed by leadership. Property Management Accounting Support accounting operations across multiple residential and commercial properties.Collaborate with property managers and ownership groups to interpret financial results and address accounting matters.Oversee new property onboarding, including system setup in AppFolio and QuickBooks and transition of financial data from prior management companies.Prepare business license filings and maintain compliance with applicable regulations and reporting requirements.Ensure adherence to company policies, trust accounting requirements, and applicable financial regulations. Required Qualifications Proficiency with AppFolio Property Manager software.Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tenant ledgers.Experience reconciling trust accounts and security deposit accounts.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience in residential and/or commercial property management accounting.Experience with QuickBooks.Knowledge of property management operations and trust accounting requirements.Ability to manage multiple properties and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
