Position Summary

The STNA provides direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This role assists residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity, independence, comfort, and quality of life.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.


  • Assist with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and positioning of residents.


  • Monitor and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, and mental conditions to nursing staff.


  • Take and record vital signs, weights, and intake/output as directed.


  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided.


  • Answer residents call lights promptly and courteously.


  • Assist with meal service and resident hydration.


  • Provide compassionate emotional support and companionship.


  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.


  • Follow infection control, safety, and resident rights policies and procedures.


  • Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, physicians, and other healthcare team members.


Qualifications

  • Current Ohio State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification required .


  • Current CPR certification preferred.


  • Previous skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, or healthcare experience preferred but not required .


  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills .


  • Ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered care.


  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents safely.


  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.


  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a healthcare setting.
